HopeLine and Domestic Violence Prevention

Verizon
Wireless’ HopeLine program collects, refurbishes and re-uses cell
phones to provide free phones and service to domestic violence victims.
Since 2001, the company has collected more than 3.5 million phones,
awarded more than $3 million in cash grants to domestic violence
agencies and organizations, and distributed more than 40,000 phones to
be used by victims of domestic violence.

2006, Verizon employees and retirees donated more than 600,000 hours of

combined matching gift funds, making Verizon Volunteers one of the
largest corporate volunteer incentive programs in the United States.
